Shelters Rescue, Rehome Dozens of Dogs

Animal shelters and rescue groups are working to move dogs and other animals into safe, permanent homes. In Texas, Happy Tails of MCAS-TX helped 50 dogs leave Montgomery County Animal Shelter through two transports, with shelter staff crediting volunteers, fosters and partner rescues. In Oxnard, officials rescued 22 dogs, including eight puppies, from an encampment; two more were still being sought, while Ventura County shelters were already operating well over capacity. Shelters in northeast England are also seeking adopters for dozens of animals, including 23 cats and dogs at Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter and 25 dogs at Dogs Trust Darlington, with some needing patient adopters or specific home environments.
