Shootings across states leave four dead, four injured
Recent shootings across Maine, North Carolina, Mississippi and another reported incident in North Colorado Street left multiple people dead or injured. In LaGrange, Maine, two men accused of firing across a road and hitting a home were arrested; authorities said both were convicted felons barred from possessing firearms. In Charlotte, two men were killed and a third person wounded in a shooting after an altercation, while a child was struck by a car and hospitalized; no arrests had been made. Two separate shootings in Jackson, Mississippi, each left one person dead: one victim was found near Ellis Avenue and Bobby Rush Boulevard, while a confrontation at a residence on Kirkley Drive killed Tre’len Smith and seriously injured another man. A separate report said officers found a 26-year-old man with gunshot wounds on North Colorado Street, but the available account provides no further details.
