Showers linger east of Charlotte before clearing and cooler air arrives

In the Carolinas, showers and a few possible thunderstorms may linger into Friday morning, especially east of Charlotte, before a cold front brings clearing, cooler and drier air, and a sunny weekend. Around Omaha, breezy, chilly conditions and a few sprinkles are expected overnight, followed by a mainly cloudy, dry Thursday and cool fall weather over the weekend.
