Shreveport launches, Jackson seeks Chicago flights

United Airlines has launched daily, year-round nonstop service between Shreveport Regional Airport and Chicago O’Hare, restoring the route after more than 18 years and making Chicago Shreveport’s 10th nonstop destination. Airport officials say flights have been about 75% full, and the O’Hare connection offers access to more than 220 destinations, including 47 international cities. The service is expected to benefit regional travelers, businesses and military personnel, while airport managers hope strong demand could lead to additional flights. The route was supported by the Ark-La-Tex Regional Air Service Alliance, and Shreveport plans to add about 400 parking spaces as travel demand grows.
