Shreveport Red River Revel marks 50 years
Shreveport’s Red River Revel is marking its 50th anniversary with an eight-day arts festival spanning two weekends at Festival Plaza, featuring visual artists, interactive exhibits, food vendors and live music. The event, which began in 1976 as a planned one-time celebration of the nation’s bicentennial, grew into an annual regional tradition organized initially by Junior League volunteers. Vendors, visitors and longtime attendees described the festival as a community gathering and a tradition that continues to draw people from beyond Shreveport.
