Siemens Healthineers plans dual rebrand ahead of spinoffs
Siemens Healthineers plans to drop “Siemens” from its name and become Healthineers as it moves toward greater independence from its parent. The change follows Siemens’ plan to spin off a 30% stake, subject to shareholder approval at both companies’ February 2027 annual meetings; the brand transition is expected to begin in 2027 and take about three years. In parallel, Healthineers is carving out its in vitro diagnostics business as Olyrian Diagnostics, with the transition expected to finish by mid-2028 while the unit remains part of Healthineers. The diagnostics division has faced persistent challenges, including difficult conditions in China and the phaseout of older testing systems. Siemens’ separation plans also reflect its focus on industrial technology and artificial intelligence.
