Simashev’s OT Winner Lifts Mammoth Past Lightning 5-4
The Utah Mammoth erased a two-goal deficit to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-4 in overtime, with 21-year-old defenseman Dmitri Simashev scoring his first two NHL goals—including the winner at 1:44 of overtime. Kailer Yamamoto, Dylan Guenther and Anders Lee also scored for Utah, while Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov set a franchise record with his 1,138th career point on Brayden Point’s first-period goal. Goaltender Karel Vejmelka struggled early but rebounded with key third-period and overtime saves to help secure the win.
