Six Face Drug Charges Across Three States
Authorities in Stafford Township, New Jersey, charged two New York residents after a driver fled a traffic stop and investigators later located the vehicle in Atlantic City; a police dog indicated the presence of suspected drugs, and the vehicle was seized for a warrant-authorized search. In Indiana, two men were charged with conspiracy to deal fentanyl after a months-long investigation that included controlled buys and trash searches and ended with the seizure of about 2.6 pounds of fentanyl and a handgun. Separately, Oelwein, Iowa, police charged two residents after a search warrant at their home: Ruben DeJesus faces felony charges for repeat methamphetamine and marijuana possession, while Candice Lynn Carrol faces misdemeanor drug-possession charges, including for methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription drugs. Additional reporting on the Oelwein case also noted paraphernalia charges and DeJesus’s other pending legal matters.
