South Korean Hansando Makes First Pensacola Port Call
The South Korean Navy training ship ROKS Hansando made its first-ever port call at Naval Air Station Pensacola, arriving for a four-day visit as part of a four-month global training deployment. The ship carried roughly 400 crew members, cadets and support personnel, and Pensacola was one of three U.S. stops on its itinerary. The visit aimed to give cadets practical experience and strengthen ties between the U.S. and South Korean navies, with planned activities including a soccer match, a Korean War Memorial wreath-laying and a visit to the National Naval Aviation Museum. South Korean Ambassador Kang Kyung-wha also visited the ship and highlighted the alliance and the value of continued exchanges.
