South Texas College Names Two Campus Staff Awardees

South Texas College recognized Andres Tello and Norine Bardo with inaugural 2026 Staff of the Year honors for its Starr County and Pecan campuses, respectively. Tello, a Student Activities and Wellness specialist who began at STC as a work-study student in 2006, was honored for fostering student connection and belonging through campus events. Bardo, an IT Service Desk team lead who joined STC in 2020, was recognized for technical leadership, supporting colleagues and campus technology projects, including work on AI tools and security reviews. Both recipients said the recognition was meaningful, with Bardo noting it also brought attention to the often behind-the-scenes work of her IT department.
