Southwest Flight 3396 Makes Emergency LAX Landing

Southwest Flight 3396, traveling from Orange County’s John Wayne Airport to San Jose, diverted to Los Angeles International Airport after the crew reported an engine-related warning. The crew declared a general emergency while the aircraft was at about 20,000 feet, and it landed safely at LAX shortly before 12:30 p.m. Southwest said the pilots followed established procedures and that passengers would continue to San Jose on another aircraft. The cause of the warning has not been disclosed, and the FAA will investigate.
