Spokane Arrests 74-Year-Old in 1986 Murder Case

Spokane police arrested 74-year-old David Tibbett and charged him with second-degree murder in the 1986 killing of 32-year-old Mary Ann Turner. Investigators say DNA evidence, combined with witness statements collected early in the case, helped establish probable cause after nearly four decades. Police credit the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab, forensic genetic genealogy company Othram and the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office for helping advance the investigation, which remains ongoing.
