USA Rout Czechia 105-64, Extend World Cup Streak
Team USA closed the group stage of the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup with a 105-64 rout of Czechia, improving to 3-0 and extending its World Cup winning streak to 33 games. The Americans quickly erased concerns from their narrow 55-52 win over Italy, taking a 29-15 first-quarter lead and holding a 57-33 advantage at halftime. Breanna Stewart led the response with 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 17 minutes after struggling offensively against Italy, while six U.S. players scored in double figures. Napheesa Collier added 12 points, and younger players including Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers and Sonia Citron also contributed as the veteran core set the tone. Team USA advances to Thursday’s quarterfinals against the winner of Hungary and Japan, while Czechia finished winless in group play.
