Patriots sign veteran DaQuan Jones to one-year deal worth up to $6 million
The New England Patriots are adding veteran defensive tackle DaQuan Jones on a one-year contract with a $3.5 million base salary and incentives that could raise its value to $6 million. The 34-year-old Jones spent the past four seasons with the Buffalo Bills and previously played for the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers, compiling 372 tackles and 20 sacks over a 12-year career. He is expected to provide depth and experience alongside Milton Williams, Christian Barmore and Cory Durden after New England allowed 97 rushing yards in its season-opening loss to Seattle. Jones previously played under Patriots coach Mike Vrabel in Tennessee and is expected to join the team before its Week 2 home game against Pittsburgh.
