Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder after sustaining the injury during an offseason workout. The team has not provided a recovery timetable, but Williams is expected to miss an extended period and is unlikely to be ready for the start of the 2026-27 season. One unofficial estimate projects a potential return around February. Williams played a career-high 60 games last season, averaging 11.7 points and 8.0 rebounds, and recently signed a guaranteed three-year, $38 million contract.
