The Tennessee Titans have postponed Chris Johnson’s official Ring of Honor induction because Johnson and his family are unable to travel to Nashville for Sunday’s season opener against the New York Jets. The team said the ceremony will be rescheduled so Johnson and his family can attend in person, while halftime festivities will still celebrate his career and legacy. Johnson announced in June that he had been diagnosed with ALS, prompting support from the Titans and fans. He spent six seasons with Tennessee, including a historic 2009 campaign in which he rushed for 2,006 yards and set an NFL record with 2,509 yards from scrimmage. Johnson ranks among the franchise leaders in rushing yards and touchdowns and is slated to become the 20th member of the Titans’ Ring of Honor.
