Oklahoma State stuns No. 6 Oregon, 39-31

Oklahoma State rebounded from a season-opening loss to Tulsa by stunning No. 6 Oregon 39-31 in Stillwater. The Cowboys dominated much of the game offensively, producing more than 550 total yards while holding Oregon to 281, and snapped both a 12-game overall losing streak and a 21-game losing streak against FBS opponents. Quarterback Drew Mestemaker accounted for more than 400 yards of offense and three touchdowns, while running back Caleb Hawkins added 110 rushing yards and a score. Oregon stayed competitive largely because its defense turned two tipped passes into interceptions that led to touchdowns, but the Ducks struggled to sustain offense, dropped key passes and failed to score in the first quarter for the second consecutive game. Dante Moore finished with 191 passing yards and two touchdowns, but Oregon’s slow start and defensive breakdowns fueled concerns about the team’s performance under coach Dan Lanning.
