Raiders Sign Michael Mayer to $45M Extension
The Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to a three-year, $45 million extension with tight end Michael Mayer, including $30 million guaranteed. The contract gives Mayer an average annual salary of $15 million, reportedly fourth-highest among current NFL tight ends. Mayer, a 2023 second-round pick, had 35 catches for 328 yards and one touchdown in 13 games last season and is expected to take on a larger role while Brock Bowers recovers from a meniscus procedure. The deal reflects the Raiders’ plan to feature both tight ends prominently in new coach Klint Kubiak’s offense, particularly as the team develops rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
