Dolphins Rookie Kyle Louis Expected to Miss Several Weeks With MCL Sprain

Miami Dolphins rookie defensive back Kyle Louis is expected to miss at least the Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers after suffering a knee injury in the second half of Sunday’s 27-13 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Coach Jeff Hafley said Louis could be sidelined for several weeks, while a report identified the injury as an MCL sprain. Louis played three defensive snaps and 14 special-teams snaps against Las Vegas before leaving the game. The fourth-round pick from Pittsburgh had recently moved from linebacker to safety and was expected to contribute as a versatile defender and special-teams gunner. Michael Taaffe is among the options available to fill his role while he recovers.
