Skattebo Scores TD, Revives Signature Celebration
Cam Skattebo scored a 3-yard touchdown run in the first quarter that put the New York Giants ahead 7-0 over the Dallas Cowboys. He finished with 81 rushing yards and that touchdown in a 28-20 Giants win. The score capped an 83-yard opening drive on which he gained 11 yards and gave New York its first touchdown in a season opener since 2022. After the play Skattebo landed his signature backflip. He was also seen bleeding from the nose after an uncalled facemask grab on a tackle. Jaxson Dart threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Likely for a 14-7 halftime lead. Dart completed 11-of-15 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown in the first half, added 39 rushing yards on three carries including a 22-yard run, and fumbled once with the Giants recovering. Dak Prescott's interception, thrown under pressure and caught by Jevon Holland sliding near the sideline on third-and-5 from the Dallas 36, helped set up the score. Quinnen Williams forced a fumble from Tyrone Tracy that gave Dallas an extra possession beforehand. CeeDee Lamb caught a 1-yard touchdown that had tied the game at 7-7.
