Umanmielen Served in Ole Miss Lawsuit Before Showdown

LSU defensive end Princewill Umanmielen was served with discovery documents outside the Tigers’ football facility on Tuesday, days before No. 7 LSU visits No. 8 Ole Miss on Saturday. Ole Miss sued Umanmielen and former Rebels offensive lineman Devin Harper in July, alleging they breached revenue-sharing agreements signed in January by transferring to LSU after Lane Kiffin left for Baton Rouge. The university is seeking $550,000 from Umanmielen and $400,000 from Harper, plus legal fees and costs. Umanmielen received interrogatories, document requests and requests for admissions, while court records indicate Harper has not yet been served. Ole Miss says the agreements imposed penalties for leaving within 90 days, and the litigation may also seek to make LSU account for the disputed amounts under its revenue-sharing cap, adding tension to Kiffin’s return to Oxford.
