Vanderbilt Rallies to Beat NC State 35-31

Vanderbilt rallied from a 17-point deficit to defeat NC State 35-31 at FirstBank Stadium, improving to 3-0. With NC State leading 31-28 and attempting to run out the clock, Vanderbilt’s Miles Capers forced a fumble by quarterback CJ Bailey in the end zone, and Cayden Daniels recovered it for the winning touchdown with one second remaining. Freshman quarterback Jared Curtis threw for 277 yards and three touchdowns in his first collegiate start but also committed three turnovers, including a late interception at the NC State 2-yard line. The victory ended Vanderbilt’s 66-game losing streak in games in which it trailed by double digits in the fourth quarter and extended its home winning streak to 10 games. Vanderbilt opens SEC play next week at Auburn.
