The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Miami Dolphins 35-13 in Week 2. Mike Evans caught 3 passes for 54 yards, then left in the fourth quarter with a hip injury and did not return. Demarcus Robinson left hobbling. Coach Kyle Shanahan said of Evans: "No it didn’t (seem like a serious injury). It can always change tomorrow, but he would’ve (played) if the game was different. Excluding Evans, 49ers wideouts have 15 catches, 181 yards and two touchdowns through two games. CONTESTED: Sources show no dispute on the score, Evans' production, or Shanahan's quotes. Vic Tafur of The Athletic, cited by Ryan O'Bleness, reported Evans believed fine and Robinson a high-ankle sprain, aligning with Shanahan. Next: Shanahan said Evans' status can change the next day.
