Washington, Washington State offenses find rhythm in FCS routs

Washington defeated Eastern Washington 48-16 and improved to 3-0. Demond Williams Jr. completed 27 of 33 passes for 373 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, and rushed for 33 yards on seven carries. The Huskies scored 31 first-half points and finished with 546 total yards before an announced attendance of 61,619 at Husky Stadium. Dezmen Roebuck had nine catches for a career-high 121 yards, Baron Naone had two catches for 103 yards including a 75-yard catch-and-run, and Rashid Williams had six catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Williams opened the game 5-for-5 on an 8-play, 74-yard touchdown drive capped by a 15-yard screen pass to Chris Lawson. Eastern Washington drove to the Washington 3-yard line but settled for a field goal after a stop by Darin Conley; Nate Bell's 14-yard touchdown run later cut the lead to four. Williams threw his first interception of the season after a hit from safety McKel Broussard. Jedd Fisch said the team did some good things on offense and for the most part played the type of offense he would like, while saying he was disappointed the Huskies were not able to finish one red-zone drive. Demond Williams Jr. said it was all about starting fast and that once that was out of the way the offense was able to click. Washington State defeated Duquesne 48-7 in its home opener behind 316 rushing yards. No dispute on the scores or box-score totals appears in the record.
