Nacua Ruled Out vs. Giants, Week 3 Status Uncertain
Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was inactive for the Week 2 game against the Giants because of a hip/groin injury after experiencing soreness and missing practices, while fellow receiver Jordan Whittington also sat out. His absence created opportunities for Davante Adams, tight end Terrance Ferguson, Tutu Atwell, Xavier Smith, rookie tight end Mason Mumpfield and other depth receivers, with Ferguson viewed as the leading replacement option. The Rams defeated New York 28-6 despite missing Nacua, while the Giants were without cornerback Deonte Banks and started rookie Colton Hood; Los Angeles also welcomed back Aaron Donald. Nacua returned to the team’s injury situation before Week 3 but did not participate in the opening jog-through, leaving his availability against Denver uncertain. Coach Sean McVay said the injury was not considered long-term, though the Rams planned to monitor Nacua through the remaining practices.
