DA Investigates Alleged LSU Student-Athlete Assault

The East Baton Rouge Parish district attorney’s office is investigating an alleged sexual assault involving an LSU student-athlete and a student on campus in October 2025. The accused athlete has not been publicly identified, and the athlete’s current team status and whether charges have been filed are unknown. The investigation followed the student’s public social-media allegations and an LSU Title IX process that, according to the student, resulted in the athlete’s yearlong suspension before the athlete was allowed to return to campus. District Attorney Hillar Moore said his office received the matter for review on Sept. 22 and requested reports, interviews, evidence and other records from LSU, local police departments, the coroner’s office and other agencies; LSU said the incident was reported to police by the student-athlete, that no criminal complaint was initially filed, and that the university followed its policies and would cooperate with law enforcement. Officials declined further comment because the investigation is ongoing, and the allegations have not been adjudicated in criminal court.
