Tennessee QB Brandon Exits, Returns After Injury

Tennessee freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon briefly left the Sept. 26 game against Texas in the second quarter after landing on his right shoulder during a designed run. He was examined in the medical tent, and backup George MacIntyre took over for a series while Tennessee punted. Brandon returned with 8:28 remaining in the first half; before leaving, he had completed 3 of 4 passes for nine yards. Tennessee trailed 10-3 at halftime. Tennessee defensive tackle Xavier Gilliam also left with a lower-body injury after recording two tackles for loss, a sack and a quarterback hit in the first half.
