No. 6 Miami beat Central Michigan 52-3 on Saturday night to improve to 4-0. Darian Mensah threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns and added a 5-yard touchdown run that capped a 97-yard drive for a 35-3 halftime lead. Malachi Toney had six catches for 120 yards and a touchdown. Central Michigan took an early 3-0 lead on a Caden VanHuis field goal before Miami scored touchdowns on its final five first-half possessions and 28 points in the second quarter. Miami totaled 572 yards while its defense held Central Michigan to 158 yards and recorded four sacks. With Mark Fletcher Jr. sidelined by an upper body injury from the Wake Forest game, Javian Mallory started and ran for a touchdown on 30 yards and five carries; Chris Wheatley-Humphrey also scored on the ground. Jamal Meriweather recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. In a four-minute third-quarter stretch Miami reached the end zone four times but only one score counted.
