Flora Scores Five Touchdowns in Cyclones’ 45-42 Win
Iowa State edged West Virginia 45-42 for its first Big 12 win, improving to 3-2 ahead of a short-week road matchup with BYU. Sophomore running back and former walk-on Aiden Flora had a historic five-touchdown performance, rushing for 212 yards and three scores while throwing for 48 yards and two touchdowns. His game-winning rushing score helped seal the victory, and he accounted for five of Iowa State’s six touchdowns. Flora became the first FBS running back since at least 1996 to record at least 100 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns in a game. His emergence has transformed expectations for the Cyclones’ offense under first-year coach Jimmy Rogers.
