Dolphins Coach Disputes Bengals’ Willis Tell Claim
Bengals safety Jordan Battle says Miami quarterback Malik Willis taps the ball or removes his hand before throwing, a potential tell Cincinnati’s defensive backs could use to break on passes. Battle’s public disclosure gives Willis and the Dolphins a chance to address the habit before the Week 5 matchup, though Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley said such movements are common among quarterbacks and not especially revealing. Willis has completed 56.3% of his passes for 712 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions through four games, and is coming off a poor performance in a loss to Minnesota. Battle also warned that Willis’s running ability and knack for extending plays pose challenges for the Bengals defense.
