Mitchell, Bridgeman Share Baycurrent Lead in Japan
Keith Mitchell and Jacob Bridgeman share the 36-hole lead at 11 under at the Baycurrent Classic after Friday's second round on October 9, 2026, at Yokohama Country Club in Japan. Mitchell shot a 6-under 65 with six birdies on his first nine. Bridgeman followed an opening 63 with a 68 after birdieing the first hole from about 30 feet. Ben Kohles posted the day's low round, a 9-under 62 featuring a front-nine 29, and is tied for third at 9 under with Mac Meissner (68), Max Homa (68) and Zach Bauchou (64). Mitchell said watching Kohles shoot 29 helped him feed off group momentum and that Japan's energy helps him play better. Kohles joked Mitchell is a pain who makes too many putts. Bridgeman said he lacked Thursday's iron command, plotted conservatively, and called a third win this year after the Biltmore Championship and Presidents Cup winning putt "just magic." Homa recovered from a double bogey at 14 with five straight birdies and said he did not panic. Hideki Matsuyama (72) and defending champion Xander Schauffele (69) are eight shots back. Weekend play remains.
