Panthers Deploy Tkachuk Brothers With Bennett
Florida’s acquisition of Brady Tkachuk has reunited him with his brother Matthew, a partnership the Panthers hope will help lead the team to another championship. The brothers’ first five-on-five shift alongside Sam Bennett came late in a 4-1 home loss to Minnesota, where the trio generated a scoring chance, drew a penalty and became involved in a fracas; coach Paul Maurice said the combination brought energy. In a game against Columbus, the brothers later showcased their chemistry as Matthew assisted on all three of Brady’s second-period goals, the first goals Brady scored for Florida. The Panthers entered their early-season matchup with Buffalo seeking to rebound from the Minnesota defeat, with their scoring output a concern despite a competitive defensive start.
