Timberwolves Expect Kuminga to Miss Friday
Jonathan Kuminga impressed in a preseason loss to Detroit, scoring 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three-point range, while adding four rebounds and three assists. His quick decisions, off-ball movement and efficient scoring stood out as Minnesota’s offense struggled, offering encouragement that he can contribute without dominating the ball. The Timberwolves are looking to him to help fill a frontcourt role and provide scoring, rebounding and defense alongside their starters. After missing two games with soreness, Kuminga returned to the starting lineup against Detroit, then was held out of Minnesota’s preseason finale for rest; he was expected to be available for the regular-season opener.
