Bruins Beat Kings for Fifth Straight Win
The Boston Bruins beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-1 on Saturday for their fifth consecutive win, sweeping the California teams on their road trip. Marat Khusnutdinov scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period, and David Pastrnak tied the game earlier and moved into a tie with Phil Esposito for third in Bruins history in even-strength goals; Elias Lindholm and JJ Peterka added empty-net goals. Los Angeles fell to 0-6 and had scored one goal in each of its previous four games. The win followed Boston’s 4-2 comeback over Anaheim, when Michael DiPietro made 25 saves for his first NHL victory and rookie defenseman Frederic Brunet scored his first NHL goal; the Bruins erased a two-goal deficit with four unanswered goals, including three on the power play.
