BYU Student Wins Record $3 Million Field Goal
A BYU student dressed as Spider-Man won $3 million during Pat McAfee’s “Kicking is Easy” contest on ESPN’s College GameDay in Provo, making a 33-yard field goal on his second attempt. The prize was funded by $1 million each from McAfee, Utah Jazz governor Ryan Smith and Smith’s business partner Ryan Sweeney, setting a record for the contest. The kick came during College GameDay’s first visit to BYU since 2009, ahead of the Cougars’ game against Notre Dame, and sparked a jubilant celebration among students.
