Hornets Agree to $209M Miller Extension
The Charlotte Hornets agreed to a five-year, $209 million rookie-scale extension with 23-year-old forward Brandon Miller ahead of the deadline for 2023 draft picks. Miller averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season, helping Charlotte finish 44-38 and reach the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. With LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges gone, the Hornets are positioning Miller as a central part of a younger core alongside Kon Knueppel. The deal is the second-largest rookie extension reported this offseason, behind Victor Wembanyama’s, and narrowly exceeds Amen Thompson’s $208 million deal.
