Service Member Hospitalized After Alamodome Fall

A military service member was hospitalized after losing control and falling at high speed during a pregame rappelling demonstration at the Alamodome before UTSA played Navy on Oct. 17. The member was one of four participants from Detachment 2 of the 6th Combat Training Squadron in UTSA’s Salute to Armed Forces and Veterans event. Medical personnel treated the member on the field for about 10 minutes before taking them by stretcher to a hospital; their identity and condition have not been disclosed. The incident briefly delayed kickoff, but the game proceeded, and UTSA said it was deeply saddened and making wellbeing services available to its community.
