Brewers Add Woodruff to World Series Roster

The Milwaukee Brewers added Brandon Woodruff to their 26-man roster for the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays after his rapid recovery from a shoulder injury that had threatened to end his season. The series opens Friday in Milwaukee, and Woodruff’s role has not yet been determined. His return gives the Brewers another pitching option, but he may be rusty after a long layoff, and MLB’s injury-replacement rules could prevent Milwaukee from replacing him if his shoulder flares up.
