Purdue Beats Purdue Fort Wayne for Second Exhibition Win

Purdue beat Purdue Fort Wayne 92-62 for its second preseason exhibition win, pulling away after leading 42-31 at halftime. Antoine West Jr. led with 16 points and Omer Mayer scored 15 as Purdue shot 59% from the field, outrebounded the Mastodons 42-17 and led by as many as 38 points. The win followed an 87-55 exhibition victory over Ball State, in which Purdue recorded nine blocks and showed its roster depth. Coach Matt Painter has said nine players merit starting consideration as Purdue prepares to face No. 4 UConn in its final exhibition on October 27.
