UConn, Florida Schedule Preseason Basketball Tests

UConn’s women will host Texas in a preseason exhibition, giving both teams—each a Final Four participant last season—an early test before the regular season. The Huskies are coming off an 88-60 exhibition win over Syracuse, in which they shot 3-for-22 from three-point range and showed weaknesses in transition defense. Wing Allie Ziebell is expected back after missing that game, while Blanca Quiñonez and Marine Dursus remain unavailable. UConn’s men will face Michigan State on Tuesday in an exhibition, testing themselves against a highly ranked opponent after last season’s Sweet Sixteen matchup; a demanding nonconference schedule is also expected to challenge them. Separately, Florida will open its exhibition slate against Baylor, with the Gators returning much of a roster viewed as a national title contender.
