Andy Dalton Signs One-Year Deal With Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are signing veteran quarterback Andy Dalton to a one-year contract and releasing Cooper Rush. Dalton, 38, was released by Philadelphia on Oct. 9 and declined the Eagles’ reported request to return; he is expected to provide depth behind Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa. Penix has returned from a rib injury, while Rush started Atlanta’s first two games as Penix and Tagovailoa were injured, and the team scored 16 points combined in those games. Dalton has played 16 NFL seasons, mostly as a backup in recent years, and has thrown one pass this season, an interception.
