Colts sign Hardman, Morstead to practice squad after Ballard firing
The Colts made their first roster moves after firing general manager Chris Ballard, signing wide receiver Mecole Hardman and punter Thomas Morstead to the practice squad and releasing wide receiver Eli Pancol. Hardman, a former Chiefs second-round pick and Super Bowl champion, adds speed and receiving depth, with experience as a returner, to a depleted group while Alec Pierce is injured. Morstead provides punting insurance as starter Rigoberto Sanchez deals with a foot injury. The Colts have also worked out former Eagles receiver Ainias Smith, but no signing has been reported.
