Cowboys Ownership Backs Schottenheimer After 2-4 Start
Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said he and owner Jerry Jones continue to support head coach Brian Schottenheimer despite the team’s 2-4 start and consecutive losses. Jones said the organization believes the coaching staff can turn things around, while acknowledging concerns on both sides of the ball and that the defense has been harder to rebuild than expected. The offense has also faltered, with turnovers, pressure on quarterback Dak Prescott and a weak running game contributing to its recent struggles. Schottenheimer said his focus is on improving the team ahead of its Week 7 game against Philadelphia. While some fans and commentators have called for coaching changes, the Cowboys have given no indication they plan to make them now.
