Kansas Adds Drafted Purdue Forward Trey Kaufman-Renn After Injunction
Kansas added former Purdue forward Trey Kaufman-Renn to its 2026-27 roster after an Indiana court granted a preliminary injunction allowing him to pursue another season of college eligibility while his case against the NCAA continues. Drafted 59th by Minnesota in June, he remains unsigned. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds last season and earned first-team All-Big Ten honors after a 20.1-point-per-game junior season. Coach Bill Self said Kaufman-Renn has enrolled and begun practicing, and expects his experience and basketball IQ to help him adjust. He fills the roster spot opened by freshman Grant Mordini’s season-ending patellar tendon injury; his availability remains subject to the legal proceedings and NCAA action.
