Saints Arrive for France’s First NFL Game
The New Orleans Saints arrived in Paris ahead of Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the first NFL matchup in France, and are prepared to take precautions amid weeks of student-led protests and occasional unrest. The trip follows a 34-27 win over the Giants that ended the Saints’ three-game losing streak. A charter flight arranged by owner Gayle Benson brought 190 fans, cheerleaders and Louisiana officials to Paris for tours and the game. Gov. Jeff Landry and Attorney General Liz Murrill also planned meetings with French energy and business leaders to promote Louisiana.
