Sharks’ Wennberg Downgraded to Week-to-Week

San Jose Sharks center Alexander Wennberg sustained an upper-body injury in the Oct. 19 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs and missed Tuesday’s game against Montreal. Coach Ryan Warsofsky initially listed him as day-to-day but later downgraded him to week-to-week, with a possible injured-reserve placement. Wennberg has three assists in nine games and plays a key middle-six role, including tough matchups and faceoffs. Ty Dellandrea entered the lineup against Montreal, while Zack Ostapchuk could take on additional minutes, including on the power play.
