Verstappen, Norris Warn of Austin Track Bumps
Ahead of the United States Grand Prix, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris warned that severe bumps at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas are taking a physical toll on drivers. Verstappen called the surface unacceptable, said impacts had placed more than 9G of vertical load on his spine, and cited medical checks that raised concern; he urged organizers to address underlying ground movement rather than rely on temporary repairs. Norris said his back was also far from perfect and agreed that Formula One’s physical demands can be underestimated. Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies praised Verstappen as the team’s central figure as it seeks to build on a recent revival and pursue another winning cycle.
