Virginia Man Arrested After Wife Says He Taped Her to Chair
Terry Ward, 64, of Richmond, Virginia, was arrested after police responded to a domestic-disturbance call at his home on Oct. 11. His wife told officers that Ward taped her to a chair in the basement while he watched football upstairs, and said she was restrained for about 30 to 45 minutes. Police reported seeing marks and tape residue on her arms, and Ward allegedly acknowledged tying her up. He faces felony abduction and misdemeanor assault and battery against a family or household member and is scheduled to appear in Richmond Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court on Nov. 10. The allegations have not been proven, and Ward is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
