Carrick apologizes after United’s 4-1 Como defeat
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick apologized to traveling supporters after his team’s 4-1 Champions League loss to Como, calling the performance unacceptable and accepting responsibility. The defeat extended United’s winless run to seven games and intensified scrutiny of Carrick, who was given a two-year deal after leading the club to Champions League qualification last season. Bruno Fernandes also questioned the team’s approach, saying United could have been braver in pressing Como. Nico Paz scored twice for the Italian side, with Tasos Douvikas and Jacobo Ramón also on target.
