Mississippi Basketball Programs Prepare for 2026-27

Mississippi’s college basketball programs are offering fans an early look at their teams as the 2026–27 season approaches. Mississippi State is using exhibition games, including an upcoming matchup with Memphis, to evaluate its largely new roster; guard Josh Hubbard is expected to return after a head injury, though his minutes may be limited. Southern Miss opened its exhibition schedule with an 82–72 loss to LSU-New Orleans, with coach Jay Ladner pointing to defensive gambles and unfinished offensive possessions as areas to address. Ole Miss women’s basketball is also building excitement for the season with an open practice and fan events, including Avengers Night, alongside the release of its promotional schedule.
